Order Modafinil
Order Modafinil Modafinil, sold under the brand name Provigil among others, is a medication to treat sleepiness due to narcolepsy, shift work sleep disorder, and obstructive sleep apnea. While it has seen off-label use as a purported cognitive enhancer to improve wakefulness in animal and human studies, the research on its effectiveness for this use is not conclusive. Modafinil is taken by mouth.
Modafinil Usage
- Take modafinil exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will prescribe the dose of modafinil that is right for you. Do not change your dose of modafinil without talking to your doctor.
- Your doctor will tell you the right time of day to take modafinil.
- People with narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) usually take modafinil one time each day in the morning.
- People with shift work disorder (SWD) usually take modafinil about 1 hour before their work shift.
- Do not change the time of day you take modafinil unless you have talked to your doctor. If you take modafinil too close to your bedtime, you may find it harder to go to sleep.

Precautions
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to this medicine or armodafinil, or if you have any other allergies. Inactive ingredients might be in this product that might cause allergic reactions or other problems.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about your medical history, especially if you have: heart problems after taking stimulant drugs like amphetamines (including chest pain and irregular heartbeat), high blood pressure, liver problems, or mental/mood disorders.
Sleep problems can impair your ability to react quickly. Even if it helps you stay awake, you may not be able to do things that require quick reactions safely (such as driving). This medication may also cause dizziness. Alcohol can make you feel dizzy.
If you are pregnant, notify your doctor. It is not recommended to be taken during pregnancy. This has the potential to harm an unborn child. Inquire about the risks and benefits of this medication right away.
It is not known that this drug passes into breast milk or not. Consult before breast-feeding your infant.
Interactions
Co-administration with opioids such as methadone, hydrocodone, oxycodone and fentanyl may result in a drop in opioid plasma concentrations, because modafinil is an inducer of the CYP3A4 enzymes. If not monitored closely, reduced efficacy or withdrawal symptoms can occur. Modafinil may have an adverse effect on hormonal contraceptives for up to a month after discontinuation. In a 2006 study, a single dose of modafinil 200 mg caused a decrease in blood prolactin levels, although it did not affect human growth hormone or thyroid-stimulating hormone. Since modafinil can induce the activity of the CYP3A4 enzyme involved in cortisol clearance, modafinil may reduce the bioavailability of hydrocortisone. Therefore, it may be necessary to adjust the steroid substitution dose in subjects receiving CYP3A4-metabolism-inducing drugs such as modafinil. Modafinil is classified as a weak to moderate inducer of CYP3A4.
